About this event

India's Young Scientist Competition – Quest to Quench is designed to inspire and engage college students in the fascinating world of science and innovation.

The competition provides participants with an opportunity to present their own research work, scientific experiments, or innovative science projects before an expert evaluation committee.

Participants develop critical thinking, scientific reasoning, problem-solving, creativity, research aptitude, and presentation skills while showcasing innovative solutions.

The event aims to nurture passionate young scientists who can contribute meaningful scientific innovations and create a positive impact on society.

General Guidelines

  • Participants must report to the Ponneri venue on or before 9:30 AM.
  • Participants must report to the Pondicherry venue on or before 8:00 AM.
  • Participants must report to the SRM Easwari venue on or before 8:00 AM.
  • Individual participation are permitted, and each participant must register separately.
  • The competition is open to school students studying in Classes 6 to 12
  • The competition is open to college students in the age category of 17 to 23 years.
  • Projects may be presented through a prototype demonstration or PowerPoint presentation.
  • Participants are expected to maintain professionalism throughout the event.
  • Participation certificates will be awarded to all registered participants.
  • Event proceedings are subject to change as per YUCI norms.
  • Follow all instructions communicated by the organizing committee.

  • Registration fees are non-refundable.

Rules & Regulations

  • Individual participation are allowed.
  • The project presented must be the participant's own original work.
  • Any infringement, plagiarism, or copied models will not be entertained.
  • Projects may be presented through a prototype demonstration or PowerPoint presentation.
  • Projects will be evaluated based on innovation, originality, future relevance, technology, feasibility, and societal impact.
  • The best project will be awarded the Title Winner along with a certificate and medal.
  • A cash prize of ₹5,000 will be awarded to the winner. If any venue has 50 or more participants, a winner will be selected from that venue and awarded the ₹5,000 cash prize. If no venue has 50 participants, participants from all venues will be combined and one overall winner will be selected for the ₹5,000 cash prize.
  • The decision of the Jury and Organizing Committee shall be final and binding.

The event consists of two rounds: Boardroom Analysis, where teams analyze a business case and adapt their strategy using a surprise Twist Card, followed by the Boardroom Pitch, where shortlisted teams present their recommendations before an expert panel. The competition aims to enhance analytical thinking, strategic decision-making, adaptability, innovation, teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.
